
22 Jun Opportunity for an IT and Telecoms Engineer
Newman Business Solutions are a Business Systems Consultancy, renowned for expert service and support, specialising in Print and Document Management, IT Solutions & Support, Telecoms, Visual Display Systems and Speech Processing Technologies across the South East of England.
We are currently looking for a keen, energetic and adaptable IT and Telecoms Engineer ideally with experience in both Microsoft 365 and VOIP environments.
The position requires someone with the ability to learn and the desire to improve their skillset, be a real team member as well as work independently. Formal qualifications aren’t essential as you will receive specific training to perform your role within the organisation effectively. You will be required to gain VoIP Certification from our Telecoms provider and further Vendor specific qualifications although we are keen to assist you gain these qualifications where possible. You will join an experienced and talented team with a broad mix of skills who will help you to develop your skills as needed.
The ability to reliably commute to Newman House in Crowborough, East Sussex is essential and you will hold a Full UK Driving Licence as you will be required to attend clients sites also. A Company Car is offered or a Mileage allowance is made if you wish to use your own vehicle.
A typical day will involve resolving tickets logged in our Help Desk system with IT and Telecoms issues along with On-Site surveys and Installations so clear communication skills are essential.
We have close working relationships with our clients and highly value their trust in us, therefore the position will require high a level of communication skills in a friendly, professional and confident manner both on the phone and in person. You will be presentable and expected to wear a suit within our office or at a Clients site however for installation work we would provide you with Newman Branded Workwear. Being smartly presented helps project our professionalism.
Typical Experience
Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
Have at least 1 years experience supporting Clients face to face and remotely
An understanding of the following is desirable but not essential –
Telephony (VOIP/Cloud VOIP, Ericsson-LG iPECs) Setup Installation and Support
Networking, Routers, VLAN’s, Managed Switches, WiFi, Microsoft Azure, Cloud Services, Hosted Applications, Microsoft Hyper-V, Data backup
Personal Characteristics
Energetic and enthusiastic
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
Adaptable and flexible
Experience and Qualifications
GCSE or Equivalent
Ideally at least 1 Years IT & Telecoms Technical Support
Any Vendor or Trade specific qualifications are an advantage
Job details
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 per year depending on experience
Full-time Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30 to 17:15 with flexibility to work beyond within reasonable hours
Some Out of hours/Weekend Work may be requested but will be suitably rewarded
